First energy passports in Serbia to come in October 2012

According to the Rules on energy efficiency of buildings and Rules on issuing certificates that will come into force on 30 September 2012, all new buildings will need to have an energy passport in order to get an occupancy permit. Only companies that have engineers licensed for energy efficiency of buildings will be able to issue energy passports. Energy passports will also be required during transactions, renting or sale of properties.

Atrium Consulting is one of the first companies in Serbia that has licensed engineers for energy efficiency of buildings.

These rules state that energy efficiency study is part of technical documentation that needs to be submitted to get building permits or decisions for approvals of construction works.

’We are very pleased to be among the first to have licenced engineers for energy efficiency of buildings. As new rules require all the new and existing buildings that are being reconstructed, adapted or rehabilitated, to have an energy passport in order to get the occupancy permit, we are ready to issue certificates and provide required documentation’, said Martin Elezovic, executive director at Atrium Consulting.

‘In addition to issuing energy passports, we provide our clients with full consulting and agency services in real estate business: issuing, buying and selling, valuation, as well as project management and green building certification, conforming to the world renowned standards LEED, BREEAM or DGNB,’ Elezovic concluded.
